Barbara Diane Black Van Allen, age 84 of Fort Payne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Collinsville Health & Rehab. She was born on November 1, 1941 in Fort Payne to the late Boyce V. & Willodeen Uptain Black. Barbara was blessed with great creativity and was well known for her cooking and baking. She enjoyed cooking dinner for and entertaining her friends and neighbors. She was a member of St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church.
Barbara is survived by her children Angeline Kinnon and husband Peter, Stacey Leebern and her husband Don, and Harvey Ward Van Allen II. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren Peter W.D. Kinnon and wife Jordan, Kathalyn B Kinnon, Chloe Kinnon Luther and husband Austin, Lily G Leebern, Lawson V.A. Leebern and her 3 great grandchildren Deen, Hunter and Remy Gray Kinnon.
The family would like to thank the staff at Collinsville Health and Rehab for the care, love and kindness they showed Barbara during the time she was with them.
