Barbara Bowling Kinnane, born Nov. 22, 1935, passed away April 12, 2017. She was born and raised in Ford City, Alabama, but had lived in Huntsville and Chattanooga for most of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen Bowling; son, Mark Kinnane; and brothers, Charles Bowling and Hugh “Buck” Bowling.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Kinnane; grandson, Brody Kinnane; brother, Brooks Bowling; sister, Nettie Bowling; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a graduate of Colbert County High School where she was active in 4-H Club. She also graduated from Larimore Business College. She was previously employed by the TimesDaily in Florence and by Boeing in Huntsville.
Barbara was a very loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and was loved in return by all who knew her. Her life was exemplified by her favorite scriptures: “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5: 25-26) “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6: 2)
Barbara was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church. In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private family service at her ancestral home.
