Barbara Ann Miller, 79, of Athens, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 at her residence. She was born Oct. 25, 1942 in Limestone County to Olando Griffin and Alberta Hamley Griffin.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Miller, two brothers, Douglas Griffin and Andy Griffin, and one sister, Patsy Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Taylor (Frank) of Athens, AL; a son Dennis Miller (Mandy) of Athens, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Miller (Zaidalis) of Athens, AL, Landon Taylor (Justina) of Athens, AL, Lyndsi Layne (Brent) of Fayetteville, TN; Jacob Miller of Athens, AL; and Hannah Young (Caleb) of Anderson, AL; great-grandchildren Brayden and Selena Miller, Evie Layne, Weston Taylor and Maddie Young; sister Brenda Powers (Archie) of Athens, AL; brother, Phillip Griffin (Debbie) of Athens, AL, and our dear family friend, Shirley Blankenship.
Mrs. Miller loved the outdoors, especially in the spring, when she could spend time in her flower gardens. She also loved her grandchildren and looked forward to her great-grandchildren coming to visit. “Granny Barbara” always seemed to keep their favorite snacks on hand.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home. The service will be at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be all of her nephews, Hollis Powers, Joey Griffin, Keith Griffin, Ken Griffin, Sammy Griffin and Michael Griffin.
