Bailey Basford Stack, age 96, died Thursday April 17, 2025, at his home. Bailey is the 3rd child born to the late Mamie Basford and John Leonard Stack on August 8, 1928. In his almost 97 years he had a wonderful life.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 21st, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Pastor Penny Stratton officiating.
Burial will follow in Brewer’s Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Bailey was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Evie Nicholson, as well as brothers James Thomas and Wayne Stack and sister Mary Margaret Sanders.
Survived by daughters Jacqueline Cay (Jackie) Carpenter (Larry), Pamela Gayle
(Pam) Bienias (Jim) and son Bailey Benjamin (Ben) Stack (Bridget)
Granddaughters: Sarah (BB’s baby) and Evie Jane Carpenter; Grandsons:
Jonathan Harper (Melanie), Reece Carpenter (Kelly), Caleb Stack (Melissa), Adam
Stack (Brooke), and Bailey Dalton Stack; Great-grandchildren: Wyatt Bailey Stack, Hazel Carpenter, Cidney, Lundyn and Ian Stack. Also survived by sister Joanne Hawkins.
Bailey was the oldest member of Brewers Chapel United Methodist Church for 84 years, and proud graduate of Cheatham County Central High School, Class of 1946 and Austin Peay State College with B.S. Degree in Business Administration in 1961. Served his Country in Japan for two years. His service time was three years, and 26 days with the U.S. Army Air Force. Bailey retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, KY with 37 years of service.
