Babulal Virji Gala, age 76 of Madison, passed away July 15, 2020.
He came to the United States from Mumbai, India in 1966 and completed his advanced studies at Christian Brothers College and Masters from the University of Mississippi. He moved to Huntsville in 1973 and had a long career at GTE and Boeing. Over the last 46 years, he was a very active member of the Indian community – had an Indian grocery story (Gala Imports) and then selling Indian dresses – and held many leadership positions.
He is survived by his wife, Amruta, his son Rajiv (Anna), and his two daughters, Prerna (Greg) and Bhavana. He also has 4 grandchildren, Shalin, Seine, Mason, and Coleman. Amruta will always be grateful for the love and support everyone has been giving the family.
There will be a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
