Avis Lloyd Hutcheson, 85, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Tishomingo County to Lester and Prennie Floyd Hutcheson. Avis worked as a truck driver for many years. He was also a ham radio operator, talking to people all over the world. He was an avid gardener and canned everything he grew. Most of all, he loved his family.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS, will be in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his brother, Royce Hutcheson (Linda); three daughters, Sherry Norris (Joe), Teresa Bostick (Joe), and Sharon Horn (Greg); five grandchildren, Andy Straub (Candi), Brittany Southern (Larry), Eric Straub, Kristin Dill (Chris), and April Walls; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hutcheson; his parents; and one grandson, Chris Straub.
