A Celebration of Life for Aveian Michelle Vaughn Pickett, 47, of Hunstville will be noon Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016 at Macedonia CP Church in America with Bishop John Z. Gray officiating and inhumation to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Friday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Avelan Michelle Vaughn Pickett was born Dec. 22, 1968 in Decatur to William Henry Vaughn Jr. and JoAnn Langford Donald. She departed this life on Dec. 17, 2016 at her residence.
She confessed Christ at an early age and united with El Shaddai Church (formerly Spring Hill P.B Church) in Trinity. She attended the Decatur City Schools, graduating from Austin High School in 1987. She furthered her education by attending Calhoun Community College, obtaining her R.N. degree.
Michelle, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was employed by Falkville Healthcare and River City Healthcare. She enjoyed reading, shopping and especially nursing. If you ask her brother Michael, he will tell you that she was a “Beloved Sister.” She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Henry Vaughn, Sr. and Vera Vaughn, Paul Langford and Evelyn Langford.
Michelle leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted mother, JoAnn Langford Vaughn Donald of Decatur; her loving father, William Henry (Shirley) Vaughn, Jr of Decatur; her siblings, Monica Ann (Marcus) Sizemore, Michael (Farrah) Vaughn and Lavette Fennell, all of Decatur; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and close friends.
