Avalene Davis, 88, formerly of Muscle Shoals, passed away Thursday at Harborchase Assisted Living, Huntsville, Alabama. Mrs. Davis was a Charter member of South Highland Free Will Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Davis; her father, Ernest Davis; and mother, Thelma Davis Williams.
Survivors include her children, Judy Davis Haygood (Dennis), of Huntsville, and Gaye Davis Brown (Keith), of Trussville; grandchildren, Lisa Haygood, of Hermitage, Tennessee, Chris Haygood (Carolyn), of Huntsville, and Staci Brown Tawbush, of Leeds; great-grandchildren, Savannah Tawbush, Benjamin Tawbush, Lennon Tawbush, Madeline Haygood, and Hannah Haygood; sisters, Minnie Franks (Ernest) and Shelby Mote (Junior), all of Nauvoo; nieces and nephews; and a great host of friends.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Hillwood Baptist Church, Huntsville. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Dr. Charles Freeman officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Old Flatwoods Cemetery in Nauvoo, Alabama. (laughlinservice.com)
