Autry Thomas Miller – Obituary

Autry Thomas Miller, age 75, of Sheffield, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Washington Park Baptist Church Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Charlie James, Brother Thomas Thornton, and Brother Gary Marks will be officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezekiel and Maudie Miller, brother, James Miller, and three infant sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 57 wonderful years, Opal Miller; sons, Thomas Miller (Melissa) and Samuel Miller; daughters, Melissa Page (Billy) Shelia Willingham, Marsha Richards (James), and Jennifer Kiser (Ken); brothers, Kenneth Miller and Jack Miller; sister, Mary Nell Puckett; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren .

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and an avid Auburn fan and loved to crappie fish.

Mr. Miller was a maintance supervisior for the Sheffield and Tuscumbia Housing Authority. A wonderful Christian man, he was a founding member of Washington Park Baptist Church, and chairman of deacons and a Gideon.

Pallbearers are Michael Page, Billy Page, Ken Kiser, Samuel Miller, Frankie Williams, Timmy Willingham, James Richards, and Chad Miller.Honorary pallbearers are Austin Page, Hunter Davis, Alex Miller, Coby Miller, and the Tuscumbia and Sheffield Housing Authority.
