Audrey Wheeler Bolton – Obituary

audreyAudrey Wheeler Bolton, of Florence, passed away while on a family vacation in Panama City on June 5, 2016. Visitation will be Friday, June 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at Underwood Baptist Church with Brother Donnie McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Audrey was the last surviving of the eight Wheeler girls, one of Colbert County’s oldest and most respected families. She was a founding member of Underwood Baptist, where she sang in the choir. She also was a member of the Shoals Praise and Worship Choir.

She worked in retail all of her life. She and her husband owned Doug’s Market in Tuscumbia.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Bolton and sons, Phillip Bolton and Frederick Bolton. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Lanfair (Rob); grandchildren, Kara McLain (Matt), Justin Lanfair (Katie) and Krista Mayes (Rowdy); great-grandson, Caleb McLain; and daughter-in-law, Connie Bolton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude or a children’s book may be donated in her memory to a local library. You may sign the guest register at sprywilliams.com
