Audrey Wadkins, beloved Mother, passed into eternity with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2025.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Vicky Reeves (James), Janice Thomason (Michael); grandchildren, Jason Ethridge (Kaci), Alison DeBeaord (Jim), Tiffany McGuyer (Derrick), and Blake Thomason (Hope); great-grandchildren Ali Ethridge, Jace Ethridge, Austin McGuyer, Molly McGuyer, Owen McDow, and Audrey Thomason; brother, Jimmy Choat (Thomasine); nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mason & Ruth Choat and her husband of 55 years, William E. (Bill) Wadkins.
Pallbearers will be Jason Ethridge, Blake Thomason, Derrick McGuyer, Jim DeBeaord, Jace Ethridge, Austin McGuyer, Chris Johnson, and Michael Joe Waldrep.
Audrey loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Her favorite titles were wife, Mother, Ma-Ma . . . and Audie. Throughout the years one of her favorite places to be was on the floor with her grands/greats rolling cars or trucks on a make-believe road or playing store/restaurant. As they grew older, she loved just talking with them about their day or cooking them their favorite food.
She loved her Lord and Savior with all of her heart. From early years she committed herself to God’s service through involvement in her church. She has served as a Sunday School teacher, meal planner, custodian, any job that was needed. Her final position was serving as Elder at her beloved Park Terrace Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Through her last months her number one goal was to be well enough to return to worship with her church family.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Colbert Memorial Chapel with services immediately following at 2:00. Bros. Gary Carter and Shawn Lombard will officiate.
