Audrey Sue Grimes, age 80 formerly of Sewanee, passed on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Bailey Manor in Winchester. She was born on August 3, 1941 in White Bluff, TN to the late Hubert and Frances (Goins)Creech. Audrey worked as a Laboratory Medical Technologist for Emerald Hodgson in Sewanee for over thirty years. She was a long-time member of the Cowan Church of Christ. Audrey loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed cooking and always made sure to cook everyone’s favorites. Audrey will be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Grimes; and brother, Hubert James Creech Jr. She is survived by her children, Craig Grimes, Kim (Michael) Jett, and Scott (Ashley) Grimes; grandchildren, Christopher Grimes, Seth Grimes, and Hailee Jett; sisters, Joyce Richardson, Brenda Gilmer, and Marietta Carrier; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 5pm until 8pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2pm in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
