Audrey Olive Townsend – Obituary

Audrey Olive Townsend, 87, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at ECM Hospital. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at North Wood Avenue United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Steven Reding officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.
Mrs. Townsend was a 1943 graduate of Central High School. She attended Florence State Teachers College and graduated from Larimore Business College. She worked at the Coca-Cola plant for over 40 years. Mrs. Townsend was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church and attended North Wood. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Goodwill.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by her son-in-law, Roger Jackson (Kaye), of Florence; two grandsons, Barry Jackson (Tim), of Huntsville, and Kevin Jackson (Abby), of Killen; great-grandchildren, Brittney Ann Jackson and Brandon Jackson; close friend, Suzanne Conner and many other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobson and Ruth Bratcher Olive, husband, Cecil W. Townsend, and daughter, Audrey Ann Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Roger Jackson, Brad Conner, Bradley Gillespie, Phillip Boyles, Edwin Boyles and retired Sheriff, Billy Townsend. Honorary Pallbearers will be Walter Matthews, Richard Eckl, David Bratcher, Gunther Sigle, Ralph Thompson, and Jerry Danley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
