Aubrey Gene Jeffrey, age 77, of Greenhill, went home to be with Jesus, his Savior, on April 21, 2013, after a sudden illness.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 22 years, Jeri Maxwell Jeffrey; his daughters, Tonya Moody (Joey); and Ladonna Pettus (Tim); stepchildren, Amy Tsaltas (Constantino), Clay Williams (Kim) and Nicky Williams; sisters, Irene Moore, Lyda Sypolt and Fay Ellen Posey (Hubert); his grandchildren, Malana Davis (Brandon), Hunter Moody (Heather), Madison Kimbrough (Chandler), Caleb Pettus, Sarah Hamm (Thomas), Christian Williams, Belle Williams and Nicholas Tsaltas; great-grandchildren, Daisy Davis and Mason Hamm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Lillian Jeffrey; brothers, Wyatt, Hillard, Ulysses, Hewlett and Paul Jack Jeffrey.

Aubrey loved his family which he showed by his generosity and loving advice. His children and grandchildren would each have to pass Papaw’s self defense course and safe driving lectures. He loved giving advice; if you had a problem, he had an answer. Home remedies and “back in the day” solutions were his specialties.

He found great joy in worshipping at Western Heritage Christian Church. He was a member of the IBEW and the Masonic lodge. Aubrey enjoyed time spent with his buddies. He could be found talking politics at the Pirate’s Corner and at the sale barn on Mondays.

He loved talking, telling stories and being outdoors in nature where he felt surrounded with God’s presence. A quick visit often turned into a daylong adventure complete with a tour of his farm in the gypsy wagon and the sharing of life experiences. He was generous to share with anyone with what he called his “good fortune”. He never met a stranger and would often end a conversation with “I love you” no matter who it was.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the chapel with Bobby Walton officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
