ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Athens that has taken the life of one person:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:04 p.m. Thursday, November 20, has claimed the life of an Athens man.
Donald E. McGregory, 77, was critically injured when the 2003 Ford Ranger that he was driving, left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. McGregory was transported to Athens Limestone Hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash on U.S. 72 near Popular Creek Road, approximately five miles west of Athens, in Limestone County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
