ATHENS-Handmade cards are going out to our friends at the Birdie Thornton Center/NCA310 who miss seeing each other each day since the center closed under state health orders with COVID-19.
Members of the Athens Mayor’s Youth Commission are making the cards for each client to receive as a reminder we are thinking of them. Several were mailed on Monday, April 20.
The Youth Commission visited Birdie Thornton earlier this year to learn about the services provided and to get to know the clients. The students loved the visit, and have a special place in their hearts for our friends there.
