ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Athens that has taken the life of one person:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:52 p.m. Saturday, June 29, has claimed the life of a Athens woman.
Deborah A. McMurtrey, 59, was fatally injured when the 2014 Toyota Sequoia she was driving left the roadway, struck at utility pole before striking a tree. McMurtrey was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Sewell Road, approximately three miles north of Athens, in Limestone County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
