ATHENS-The City of Athens reports extensive damage from the strong storms that passed through the area last night:
Damage on The Square…HVAC units and roofing material and other debris, including Christmas blown into streets.
Big tree down at Courthouse; old pecan tree down at Pecan Park;
Utility lines and poles down at Veterans Museum; the museum and park have damage; the brick building with the museum’s mural is gone.
Fire Station No. 3 has damage; and reports of trees down and possible damage at nearby apartment complex.
To date no other storm damage has been reported in the area.
