ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a release on a robbery call this morning, Friday, December 16. Athens Police are seeking the help of the public in identifying the suspect wanted in the robbery:
“This morning shortly after 05:00 the police department received a call of a robbery at Buds on US 31 South at Huntsville Brownsferry Road. When officers arrived the clerk told officers she working in the store when she heard someone come in the store. She walked around the corner and saw a black male with his face covered standing at the counter. He pulled a small black pistol and demanded money from the clerk. After getting the money he left the store walking north. The male had on a black sweet sweat shirt or a fleece jacket, blue jeans and tennis shoes. No one was injured in this incident. I have attached a couple of photographs. We’re asking if anyone has any information the call the Athens Police Department at 256-233-8700.”
