Athens Police Arrest Two Suspects Charged With Aggravated Child Abuse Resulting In Serious Injury

ATHENS-On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 11:00 am, staff members at Athens-Limestone Hospital reported that a three year old child was being treated for serious injuries.

These wounds were consistent with child abuse.  Athens Police Department Officers and Detectives conducted a thorough investigation that resulted in the arrest of two people.

Both of the following are charged with Aggravated Child Abuse Resulting in Serious Injury, Zion Deshun Cannon, 26 years old, of Athens and Daysha Serra Beasley, 32 years old, of Harvest.
