Athens Police Arrest Suspect Charged With 17 Counts Of Data Fraud And Theft 1st Degree

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a release concerning the arrest of a suspect on Saturday, September 14 charged with data fraud and theft 1st degree:

“Saturday night (September 14) the police department received a call from First National Banks Security. They observed a male using  multiple cards attempting to get cash from the First national Bank’s ATM on US 72 East.

Officers Mac McWhorter and Blake Adams arrived and located the male subject. Investigator Jarrod Smith and Sergeant Jonathan Caldwell later arrested Marcus Diego Praxedes Macedo for encoded data fraud 17 counts and one count of theft of property first degree. 

Macedo was booked at the police department and transported to the county jail.

The investigation into this case is continuing at this time. The only address we were able to obtain was Atlanta, GA.”
