ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement concerning a suspect arrested on Theft of Property charges in the 1st Degree:
“Michael Christian Stoltzfus was arrested Friday on a warrant for theft of property 1st degree.
On May 2, 2016 Stoltzfus cashed 2 checks a First National Bank totaling $3163.33. Later it was determined both fraudulent.
After his arrest Stoltzfus told investigator Kelly Fussell he was given $300.00 by a third person for cashing the two checks. Stoltzfus was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.
The investigation into this case will continue and more arrest are possible. “
