ATHENS-On February 27, 2025, the Athens Police Department began an investigation regarding child pornography after receiving information from the Regional Evidence Analysis & Cyber-Intelligence Team (REACT).
Timothy James Swaffer
Timothy James Swaffer (age 30) was identified as the primary target in the investigation. On March 7, 2025, a search warrant was conducted at Swaffer’s residence, located in the 1200 Block of Audubon Lane, in Athens, Alabama.
During the search, several images of individuals under eighteen (18) years of age engaged in an act of sexually explicit conduct were located.
Following the search, Swaffer was arrested for ten (10) counts of Possession with Intent to Disseminate Child Pornography.
This investigation is ongoing with more charges expected.
