ATHENS-We saw walkers, bikers, dogs and a diva today at our 100 Alabama Miles Challenge at Swan Creek Greenway in Athens.
Members of the Athens Mayor’s Youth Commission hosted the Athens event on the city’s National Recreation Trail. We gave out 50 free T-shirts in less than an hour, and several participants said they have signed up to do the challenge or they are interested in signing up.
The goal of the 100 Alabama Miles Challenge is to encourage people to get active and visit recreational areas in the state. People can track miles they walk, jog, bike, swim, paddle, etc.
