ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident has taken the life of an Athens man:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:34 a.m. Saturday, September 13, has claimed the life of an Athens man.
August Q. Boyd, 24, was critically injured when the 2005 Hummer H2 he was driving left the roadway, struck a tree, a utility pole and then overturned. Boyd was ejected and was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Boyd was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred on New Cut Road near Parker Road, approximately seven miles west of Athens, in Limestone County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Divion continue to investigate.”
