TOWN CREEK-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer has taken the life of an Athens man:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. Monday, April 28, has claimed the life of an Athens man.
Matthew L. Ebert, 23, was fatally injured when the 2012 Toyota Tacoma he was driving struck the 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by R C Dowling Jr. 55, of Pearland, TX. Ebert was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 20 near the 45 mile marker, approximately one mile east of Town Creek, in Lawrence County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
