Athens Man Dies After Motorcycle Leaves Roadway Near Decatur

DECATUR-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle involving a motorcycle has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, has claimed the life of an Athens man.

Marchas B. Williams, 45, was fatally injured when the 2006 Suzuki  GSX1300R motorcycle that he was operating left the roadway and overturned. Williams was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near the 364 mile marker, approximately four miles north of Decatur, in Limestone County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
