ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a statement regarding the arrest of a suspect on Thursday, March 15 on breaking and entering a vehicle:

“Wesley Ford Tribble was arrested on Thursday, March 15 on a warrant for unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

The victim told officers on March 6, 2018 he was stopped for a traffic light at US 72 and I-65 when Tribble walked up and ask him for money. He didn’t give Tribble any money and Tribble walked around back of the truck and took a Dewalt drill.

The victim got out and got his drill back. After a short time the victim saw his vehicle had been damaged by Tribble. The victim then called the police department and reported the incident. The victim knew Tribble and was able to identify him.

Investigator Kelly Fussell obtained warrants on Tribble for unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle. Tribble was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
