Athens Man Arrested Charged With Theft Of Property 1st Degree

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a statement on Wednesday, April 18 regarding the arrest of a suspect who faces charges of Theft of Property 1st degree:

“Michael Lee Alan Thompson was arrested yesterday for one count of theft of property first degree and one count theft of property second degree.

Investigator Kelly Fussell arrested Thompson after an investigation of a theft of a lawn mower valued at $2893.00 on April 4, 2018 from Wal-Mart. Thompson was also involved in a theft on January of $1771.00 of merchandise from Walmart.

Thompson was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail. The investigation into these cases continues and more arrest are possible.”
