LIMESTONE COUNTY-Narcotics Investigators with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Athens man on Wednesday, February 24 and he has been charged with various drug crimes.  The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Released a statement pertaining to this arrest:

“Narcotics investigators with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office seized cocaine, other drugs, and over $17,000 in cash from an apartment on Piney Chapel road today.
Richard Earl Jones, Jr., 28, of Athens was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession of Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is held in the Limestone County Jail on $8500 bond.
Investigators executed a search warrant this morning at the residence, which was the drug bust athens 1result of an ongoing investigation that had taken place over several months. During the search they located 3.2 grams of crack cocaine, 3 Roxicodone 15mg pills, 1 Xanax, digital scale with cocaine residue, razor blades with cocaine residue, and measuring jars with cocaine residue.
Investigators also found $16,420 in cash in the pockets of a pair of shorts in a dresser drawer, as well as $1337 in cash on Jones’ person.”
