ATHENS-Kudos to our Athens Fire & Rescue heroes for another job well done. C shift saved 3 cats from a structure fire on Wentworth Drive on Monday morning.
Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Truck 1 and Battalion 1 all responded to the emergency call at 9:48 a.m.
2 of the cats were unresponsive when they were found in heavy smoke, zero visibility conditions. They were resuscitated with high flow o2. The other was hiding underneath a bed. Homeowner made an attempt to find them before we arrived.
We’re thrilled that these adorable fur babies are safe and sound!
