ATHENS – Come on down to Athens Farmers Market, presented by Dream Key Real Estate, at 409 Green St. this Saturday [July 22, 2023] from 8 a.m. until noon for free tomato sandwiches.
“This is one of our most popular theme days,” said Athens Farmers Market Manager Kat Greene. “Tomatoes are in season and the Athens Farmers Market has the best in the area.”

family and friends. In addition to our tomato sandwich giveaway, the Silver Silos will be the musical artists for the sixth Tomato Sandwich Day in a row. They will perform from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The market will also have a fun children’s craft presented by the Limestone County Master Gardeners.
For the third consecutive year, AMBL Studios sponsored the Tomato Sandwich Day. The market committee is grateful for their support.
The Athens Farmers Market is an Alabama Certified Farmers Market. This means that all produce is locally and naturally grown in North Alabama or the Tennessee Valley. Prepared foods sold at the market are also locally made, as are the handcrafted goods offered by our local artisans.

Also, exciting news this season, the pavilion has been totally refurbished offering more open spaces, freshly painted pavilion tables, a new roof, and festive string lights. This is the first phase completed in the renovation of the entire site.
Athens Main Street Executive Director Tere Richardson said, “Our project will transform the market site into a beautiful park and multi-use site for all our community.” Richardson says the renovation will be done while remembering and celebrating our routes in agriculture and

The popular Saturday markets are open through September 30 from 8 a.m. to Noon. Tuesday Markets will run through Aug 29, 2023. from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Athens Farmers Market is a program of Athens Main Street.
