ATHENS-“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” ~ John Muir~
ATHENS-“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” ~ John Muir~On Saturday, April 24 Chairman Collin Daly joined City of Athens, Alabama, Mayor Ronnie Marks, Athens Rotary Club, Alabama Forestry Commission and Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful, to proclaim April 24, 2021, as Arbor Day in Limestone County and the City of Athens. A new willow oak tree, donated by Grayson Bailey Landscaping & Design LLC, was planted to replace the 70 plus year old oak tree that was recently lost.
We were reminded today that loss is always followed by renewal. The hope for this new tree is that it will provide shade on a hot day, be beauty for us all to enjoy, and remind us of our commitment to reclaim and reinvest in our community.
