ATHENS-The Athena Performing Arts Series (APAS) is proud to present a night of Andrew Lloyd Webber on May 13 at

Swan Creek Park in Athens. The evening will feature live musical performances from some of Andrew Lloyd

Webber’s most popular hit shows such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Phantom of The Opera, Evita, CATS, Jesus Christ Superstar  and others. Performers are all from the Athens-Huntsville area with vast experiences in musical theatre.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Swan Creek Park in Athens. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or blankets and have dinner while listening to the great music. Happi Pappi Beignets, Get Loaded and Soul on Wheels food trucks are scheduled to be onsite. Guests are welcome to bring their own food.

“Our board wanted to offer a family-friendly event to our community as a sort of ‘welcome back from COVID isolation.’ Thanks to our generous sponsors, we are offering this as a free event,” stated Dr. Chris Hamilton,

APAS committee member. “We want this to be a relaxing evening where friends and family can gather in the beautiful park area and we can all enjoy the beauty of these musical performances.”

The APAS is a nonprofit organization working to expand performing arts experiences in Athens-Limestone County. The initiative was launched in July of 2018 with the vision of providing  increased opportunities for learning, creative expression and civic engagement for all ages within Athens and the surrounding communities.

Working with the Athens City Schools Foundation and volunteers from the community, the APAS goal is to create a performing arts series that provides professional productions by local, national and international artists to enhance the quality of life of those in the community, expand educational opportunities and broaden access to the performing arts.
