Atha Wayne Russell, 76, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Belmont, Mississippi and was self-employed working in the wholesale/retail industry for around 30 years.
Graveside services will be Monday, February 28, 1:30 p.m. at Russell Cemetery with Larry Henry officiating. Burial will be in Russell Cemetery, Cherokee, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife-Betty Johnston Russell; three children -Tony Lee Russell, Tammy Denise Russell Henry and Jason Atha Wayne Russell; two step-daughters-Tonya Suzanne Holly and Gina Russell; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister- Lynn Russell McCain.
He was preceded in death by his mother- Jean Sanders, father- A.C. Russell, grandparents- Bluford Lee and Rosie Delma Malone Russell and two brothers- Roy and Jeff Russell.
Pallbearers will be Zach Elrod, Kevin Henry, Tony Russell and Larry Henry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Truman Russell and Jameson Henry.
Visitation will be Monday, February 28, 12-1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
