Arzie Dee Lansdell – Obituary

AzieArzie Dee Lansdell age 81, of Florence, died Thursday, September 19, 2013. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22 from 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 3:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Reverend John J. McKell officiating. Burial will be at Greenview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Nick Taylor and Robbie Heinitz. Dee was a member of West Minster Presbyterian Church of Florence. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War where he was honored as a purple heart veteran, 4 Bronze Service Stars, 1 Bronze Arrowhead Parachute Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, and Purple Heart Korean service medal. He also served in the 503d Airborne Infantry Regiment and was a member of the V.F.W. He was retired with Reynolds Metals and Helen Keller Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Roden; father, Luther F. Lansdell; brother, James Lansdell; grandsons, Michael, and Brent Hamilton. Survivors are his wife, Sue Lansdell; chidren, Billie Sue Nuby (Glenn), Debra Carr, Cheryl Carlsen (Guy), and Angela Vinson (Jeremy); sister, Inez Tidwell; 9 grandchildren, Chris and Greg Nuby, John Carr, Deena Johnson, and Chance Calloway, Ashley Potter, Audra Hamilton, Tyler and Katelyn Vinson. In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Helen Keller Foundation for West Minster Presbyterian Church of Florence.
