Arthur Morris Carr – Obituary

Arthur Morris Carr, 83, of Huntsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. A graduate of Mississippi State, he was a talented engineer, and was appointed by the president to serve on the Three Mile Island Investigation Committee. Mr. Carr worked with Werner Von Braun at Redstone Arsenal’s Marshall Space Flight Center.

He was an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. He was a yachtsman and an avid golfer. Mr. Carr was a most caring and loving husband, father, and stepfather.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Hunley Carr; son, Howard Carr (Margrit); daughter, Linda Ann Carr; stepdaughters, Kim Tippett and Terri Tippett, all of Huntsville; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Carr of Portland, OR; niece, Shannon Carr of Palm Springs, CA; and nephew, Shawn Carr of Portland OR.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
