Arthur Lee “Art” Raymond, age 87, died on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the home of his brother, James O “Jim” Raymond in Lexington, Alabama. where he had been residing for the past year. He was born on Dec. 30, 1928, in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana, the oldest child of Robert Lee Raymond and Mary Vera Hamby. Art attended school in north Louisiana before joining the U.S. Navy in the late 1940s. He worked in several occupations before finding the “job of a lifetime” crewing on an off-shore supply boat serving oil rigs in the U.S. Gulf Coast. After he retired, he and his wife, Kathleen of 60-plus years, spent some time RV’ing before settling in the Branson, Missouri, area. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Kathleen (Burch) Raymond. Survivors include his children, Billy, twins Jerry and Gary, Mike, J.R., and Sue; his brother, Jim and wife, Martha Sue Raymond, of Lexington, Alabama, and numerous Raymond and Hamby relatives in north Louisiana.
Rogersville Funeral Home is assisting the Raymond family.
