Arthur Junior Thompson, age 80, of Ethridge, TN passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, former resident of Davidson County, TN and retired from Ed Lindsey Mfg. in Nashville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Thompson and Stella Mae Ball Thompson Bradford; one daughter, Nancy Underwood; four step-children, Henry Cook, Eugene Cook, Lena Cook, and Mary Cook and two sisters, Ona Thompson Manning and Olee Thompson White.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Thompson of Ethridge, TN; two sons, Darrell Wayne Thompson of Lawrence County, TN and Noah Thompson (Angie) of Dickson, TN; six step-children, Billy Cook of Nashville, TN, Robbie Cook of Dickson, TN, Joey Davidson of Lawrenceburg, TN, Frank Davidson of Lawrenceburg, TN, Shelia Simpson of Hermitage, TN, and Bonnie Brown of Dickson, TN; three brothers, Frankin Thompson of Lawrenceburg, TN, Donnie Thompson of Pulaski, TN and Lee Jackson of AL; and four sisters, Andrea Reed of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ann Briley of AL, Rendy Matlock of MS, and Fay Hunt of Ethridge, TN. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, June 01, 2017 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 01, 2017, with Kenneth Partain officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
