Arthur James Callaway known to many as Pete went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, after an extended illness. He was born on October 16, 1948 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur and Lucille Callaway. He attended and graduated from German Township Senior High School in Masontown, Pennsylvania. After graduation, Pete made Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania his home. Pete was employed by Equitable Gas Company for more than 20 years and then worked for M O’Haron until he retired in 2004.
Pete loved football. Anyone that knew him could always find him in front of the TV on Sunday’s watching the games and on Saturday mornings watching cowboy shows. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, R&B music, and spending time with family and friends. Pete was a loyal friend, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
In 2011 Pete relocated to Florence, Alabama to marry Lorna Marlene Cade. They were united in marriage on August 27, 2011.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lucille Callaway, son; Franklin Lockett,brother; Louis W. Callaway, and sister; Geraldine Callaway.
Pete leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Lorna Callaway (Penny); one son: Parris Callaway, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three sisters: Gertrude Callaway, Stone Mountain, Georgia; Rebecca Wiley, Temple Hills, Maryland; Irene Callaway, Clarkston, Georgia;one half-brother: Frank Turpin (Sarah) New York, New York; three brothers-in-law: Louis Mateen, Tempe, Arizona; Larry Robinson, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Fred Cade III, Seattle, Washington; three sisters-in-law: Lynn Gamble, Chicago, Illinois; Loretta Cade, Chicago, Illinois; Lorrie Woods (John), Florence, Alabama. He also leaves to mourn his loss a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
