ATHENS – A juried showing of art by alumni and faculty of Athens State University and Calhoun Community College will be on display July 25 through September 29 in the main gallery and walking gallery at the Alabama Center for the Arts in Decatur. There will be 96 pieces on view by 32 artists. Twenty-six pieces of art were chosen as Juror’s Choice.
“This is the largest alumni and faculty show we have had to date,” said Jennifer Bunnell, the Center Director. “We have a good representation of mediums and styles, and we are thrilled that the items will be on view during the River Clay Fine Arts Festival September 23 – 25.”
There will be a Meet the Artists reception on Friday, August 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. during Decatur’s 3rd Friday event. Exhibit hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays. All events are free and the public is welcome.
