Jerry Austin Swindle
FLORENCE-On Wednesday, September 26 the Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect who has been charged in the September 24th vehicle burglaries in the East Florence area:
“Jerry Austin Swindle was arrested in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries that occurred in the East Florence area.
The burglaries occurred during the early morning hours of September 24th, in the area of Wilson Dam Rd. Swindle was stopped by patrol officers a short time after the burglaries occurred. During the stop and further investigation it was determined that Swindle was in possession of some of the stolen property.
Swindle was arrested on charges of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle (2 counts), Theft of Property 3rd, and Theft of Property 4th.
He is currently confined in the Lauderdale County Detention Center awaiting a $4,500 bond.”
