FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement Friday, June 30 concerning the arrest of a suspect in a rash of vehicle burglaries near the Southern Oak Apartments :
“Leigh Ann Cox, 28, of Florence was arrested this morning after a report of multiple vehicle burglaries in the area of Southern Oaks Apartments on Hermitage Drive. Officers responded to the area and began searching for a suspect. Officer Andrew Graves located Ms. Cox inside of a vehicle and detained her until detectives arrived. The investigation revealed that a total of 5 vehicles had been burglarized and property from the thefts was recovered and returned to each victim. Ms. Cox is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on bond totaling $15,000.”
