Arrest Made In Hit-And-Run Accident In Athens

On Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:00 am, Heath Allan Pelzer, 36 of Athens, was arrested for the Felony Offense of Leaving the Scene of Accident with Injuries.  He will be transported to the Limestone County Jail.

Erskin Dewayne Jacobs, 59, of Athens was struck  at the intersection of US 72 and Hine Street as he was crossing the road. At which time the vehicle fled the scene West bound on US 72.  It had been described as a tan/beige Honda CRV which was allegedly driven by Pelzer.
