FLORENCE- A 19-year old Lauderdale County man has been arrested for allegedly passing counterfeit 100 dollar bills in the Shoals Area.
Florence Police arrested Wesley Heath Vaughn of 9920 Lauderdale 6. Vaughn has been charged with First Degree Possession of a Forged Instrument.
According to investigators Vaughn was arrested at a local fast food restaurant after he tried to pass one of the fake 100’s. the suspect is currently being held at the Lauderdale Detention Center on forgery charges.
Florence Police say there are still counterfeit $100 dollar bills being passed in the area and the police are encouraging retailers to be on the alert for the fake 100’s.
