On Sunday, August 14, 2022, Armando Anthony DeMarco Sr., beloved husband and father, passed away.
Armando ‘Mony’ Anthony DeMarco Sr. was born on October 29, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born to Italian immigrants, his father, Giuseppe DeMarco, and mother, Mary Immaculate Garreffa. Raised in Cleveland, Armando was a golden glove boxing finalist in the state of Ohio and turned pro for a few years. Armando served in the Army and graduated from Armored School in 1954 at Fort Knox, KY. He graduated from mechanics school and later started several businesses in mechanics and repair. In 1979, he moved with his family to Cullman and resided there for 47 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Leona Mary Sally Maughn DeMarco; six children, Mary Chambers, Sharon DeMarco Lee, Armando ‘Mony’ DeMarco Jr., Tina Wilson, Traci Goodwin, and Mary Kathryn Campbell; fifteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Armando ‘Mony’ Anthony DeMarco Sr. will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
