Archie Keith “Jaybird” Aycock, 66, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Billy Myrick officiating. Interment will be in Greenview Memorial Park, Florence.
Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Kaye Tippet Aycock; parents, Archie Lester and Louise B. Aycock; brother, Lester Wayne Aycock; brother-in-law, David Hand; grandparents, Archie Ray and Ora B. Aycock and Harvey L. and Elmar R. Bailey; lifelong friend, Jeff Mayfield; and his children’s foster mother, Sheila Davis.
Keith is survived by his children, Amanda Kaye Leonard (Adam) and Archie Kyle Aycock (Mindy); grandchildren, Jonathan Aaron Leonard, Jace Aidan Leonard, Adalyn Kaye Leonard, Danni Leonard, and Maebry Ann Aycock; sisters, Shelia L. Barrett (Hal) and Lisa K. Hand Hodge (Gary); the foster family of his children, David Davis, Ashley Tingle, and Shelby Ashby; and three uncles and two aunts, Barbara King (Wayne), Kenneth Bailey, and Jimmy Bailey (Lyla).
Special thanks to Nicole and Jonathan Landers and Bridget and Joey Murphy for all the help you have given Keith through the years. Also, very special thanks to the staff at Terrance Manor Nursing Home for the unconditional love and care of Keith.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
