Archie Dean Thornton, 89 of Athens, AL / Monor Hill, TN died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Thornton was a member of the Shoal Bluff Church of Christ. A U.S. Army Veteran. A former Member of the Civitan Club. and a retired Carpenter. Preceded in death by daughter, Lori Thornton Weston.. Services will be Friday, 2 PM at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Pepper officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 5-8 PM at Spry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Minor Hill Cemetery. Survivors include, Wife, Mareline Thornton of Athens, AL, Sons, Glenn Thornton (Gail) of Elkmont, AL, Greg Thornton of Athens, AL, Daughters, Gina Rice of Athens, AL, Lana Williams of Elkmont, AL, Brothers, J.W. Thornton of Lester, AL, Charles E. Thornton of Minor Hill, TN, Jimmy Thornton of Minor Hill, TN, Joe Thrnton of Minor Hill, TN, Sister, Margie Ann Watts of Pulaski, TN, 6 Grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be, Will Thornton, Caden Williams, Joey Russell, Braxton Griffin, Jasper Griffin, Adam Graves. Honorary Pallbearer will be Brad Griffin.
