Aquilla Yagoda (nee Wadkins), 76, beloved wife of 54 years of Jon; loving mother of Paul Yagoda and Marijo Zehner; dear grandmother of Eric, Alyssa (Justin), and Hayli; and sister of Benny Wadkins and the late William Wadkins, and Corinne Tucker and beloved sister, Mary Dane Wadkins. She also leaves seven nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Stella (nee Waldrep) Wadkins; nephew, Wayne Nix; and great-nephew, Noah Moody. She was an active member of Mentor United Methodist Church in Mentor. She was very active in local organizations in the communities where she lived. Mrs. Yagoda was employed with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Her last position was as a bank closer. She retired in 1994 after 33 years of service with various government agencies. The family will received friends from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Ave., Mentor (44060) where services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, Willoughby, Ohio. There will be a visitation at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence, Alabama on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The service will be on Friday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. at Moontown United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Alabama. Burial will be at Smith Cemetery in Cherokee.
