FLORENCE-With the success of its past two musical programs before its Swampette tours this year, Florence/Lauderdale Tourism will once again provide free musical entertainment before the April 4 tour. Starting at 11 am, local musical group Cheap Thrill DeVille will present their own style of blues and indie rock in the Visitor Center Gallery in McFarland Park in Florence,
The April 4 version of the Swampette tour of area music venues will follow the musical performance, from noon to 4 pm. The popular tour offers stops at FAME Studios, 3614 Jackson Highway and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Led by Judy Hood, wife of Swamper bass player David Hood, the tour travels to each venue aboard the “Trolley of Tunes.” Tour cost is $35 per person.
Please note that the date for the May Swampette tour has CHANGED from the original date of May 2 to the new date of May 9. The May 9 tour will also be held from noon – 4 pm, starting at the Visitor Center and continuing to the three music attractions.
